Australia has announced that
it has powered world’s largest solar power storage battery last week. It has a capacity to power
30,000 homes and is powered by solar energy. It is a milestone in renewable
energy solution and has a potential to change the face of earth and human life.
With this first solution Telsa
has proved that sustainable, effective energy solution is possible. Debate
on battery solution has become intense and supporters of fossile fuel are
claiming that impact is being exaggerated and Telsa’s supporters are claiming
that Mr. Musk could change the energy industry.
This all started with one
tweet by Mr. Elon Musk to South Australian Premier Mr. Jay Weatherill. “Tesla
will get the 100 MW system installed and working in100 days from contract
signature or it is free. That serious enough for you” and to this tweet,
Mr. Jay Weatherill replied, “give me seven days to clear funding and politics”
This was just the one of the
projects Telsa is involved in. They are also working in Southern California,
Hawaii, New Zealand, in the UK and on several Pacific islands. Luxury hotels in
South Africa, on islands and in remote locations are also using small power
storage systems
Retailer Target and online
giant Amazon are also planning to enter in power storage, since power source
would keep severs running if electricity is cut.
Since renewable energy and
storage has become a new buzz word with huge market potential, Telsa is
expected to face competiton from other power firms in South Korea and China.
